Sales Representative

(unionized position)

We are currently looking for a warrior to join our team. We are seeking an experienced individual with knowledge of the food sector who will be able to make a difference for our clients.

The representative selected will mainly work in supermarkets on a full-time, permanent basis. This role will involve being on the road.

There are multiple regions to be covered.

Specifically, the candidate will be tasked with performing transactions required for updating inventory of materials, finished products and external warehouses, capturing data and transmitting information to the relevant departments. They will take care of logistics and document preparation for orders and samples for internal and external clients and follow up with the shipping team.

Tasks:

  • Develop business with current and future clients in your region, within the allotted budget.
  • Sell promotions, sales/marketing concepts and trade agreements to clients and ensure that they are executed in retail.
  • Introduce and present new products.
  • Ensure that all of Station 22’s products are represented at all of our clients’ places of business.
  • Ensure that products are rotated on shelves at your clients’ places of business.
  • Regularly visit current clients who are part of the food retail sector to keep merchants up to date, ensure proper placement of brands’ promotional material and products and display this material, where necessary.
  • Ensure that you set your route based on needs.
  • Identify clients’ needs and fulfill them.
  • Keep client profiles up to date.
  • Resolve clients’ issues and complaints.
  • Inform your supervisor of market conditions and new trends with competitors.
  • Write sales reports, client follow-ups, etc.
  • Participate in sales meetings and trade shows.
  • Implement marketing efforts.
  • Carry out product marketing programs using tools provided by the marketing and sales departments.
  • Optimize cross-merchandizing in cheese and charcuterie sections and seize opportunities.
  • Arrange products according to optimal product placement.
  • Display promoted products.

Requirements:

  • Have 3 years of experience in representing food products (wine or beer industry, a plus) or relevant experience in the food industry.
  • Have a diploma of college studies in business administration, marketing option, or a related discipline.
  • Be bilingual.
  • Be skilled in sales development and customer service.
  • Have knowledge of wines (a plus).
  • Have a valid driver’s licence and own a car.
  • Be able to travel.
  • Live within the region, ideally.
  • Be capable of lifting up to 25 kg repeatedly.
  • Be comfortable using Microsoft Office software.
  • Be courteous and business minded.
  • Be independent and demonstrate good attendance.
  • Be a good negotiator.
