General Helper/Production Labourer

(unionized position, full time)

We are currently looking for General Assistants to join our wine and spirits production and bottling team. The advantage of working in our food plant: the environment is clean, temperate and the pace is gentle!

You’ll have access to an operator position via internal posting after obtaining regular employee status, following your probation period of about three and a half months. Salaries available to you through an internal posting start at 30,13$/h and training is offered for all our positions, so don’t worry!

Important The plant is a French-speaking work environment, and applicants must understand and speak French fluently to progress through the recruitment process.

Tasks:

  • Support production and operators in daily tasks (decanting liquids, adding bottles to the production line, placing caps on bottles in production, adding cans to the line, etc.);
  • Operate one of the machines on the wine and spirits bottling lines, for example: labeller, case packer, bottler, case erector, etc. ;
  • Make adjustments during format changes;
  • Ensure that quality and production speed standards are met;
  • Work in compliance with food safety standards (wear a hair and beard net for men, wash hands, etc.);
  • All other related tasks.

Requirements:

  • Speak and understand French;
  • Must be 18 years of age or older;
  • High school diploma (DES);
  • Experience as an operator in a food environment - Especially bottling (an asset);
  • Knowledge of HACCP, ISO 22000, GMP, WHMIS (an asset);
  • Forklift competency card (an asset);

Key skills for this job:

  • Is a driven, reliable and enthusiastic individual who wants to grow with the team;
  • Be able to lift cases of alcohol ranging from 12 kg to 17 kg;
  • Be in good physical shape.

Department: Bottling

Production schedules:

  • Day (6:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.);
  • Evening (2:30 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.);
  • Night (10:30 p.m. to 6:30 a.m.);
  • Weekends: 12hr shifts available / possibility of 24- or 36-hour schedule depending on position posted

Starting salary :

$17/hr, or $21/hr when you fill in on operator duties (during breaks, operator vacations or vacations, etc.).

Shift premiums:

  • Weekday evening: $1.25/h
  • Weekday night : 1.75/h
  • Weekend, day: $3/h
  • Weekend, night: $4.75/h
